Linwood Court is a single story building set in well stocked gardens,situated between Pickering and the seaside town of Scarborough in the heart of the North Yorkshire countryside.  It is just half a mile outside of the village of Thornton le Dale which has been voted the prettiest village in Yorkshire.  Just a stones throw away are stunning views and pleasant country walks.

It is an ideal setting to begin the journey of recovery.  The acommodation is recently refurbished and comprises 15 single rooms, with ensuite wash hand basins and wc’s – there are numerous bathrooms and shower rooms in the unit – many of the rooms have French doors onto small balcony's and all have a view of the gardens both front and rear.  There are also two large shared rooms also with French doors.  The sitting/dining room is spacious and comfortable.

The programme of recovery at Linwood Court is designed for people seeking help and support with alcohol addiction, drug dependency, eating disorders or behavioural problems. It allows escape for a short time, from outside pressures and allows time for reflection and regrouping.  Many of these pressures may have been created by problems behaviours and some of the problem behaviours can be created by pressure.  Whichever way around it is, the relief of unwinding in this undemanding atmosphere can only have a positive effect.  Put this together with an individually tailored therapy programme and success is likely to be achieved.  Although the therapy programme may be challenging at times, it will also be rewarding and life changing.
